Roger Federer Nails Fall's Freshest Look (That You Should Try)

Let the tennis player give you some serious autumn vibes

Welcome to autumn, the fashion world's favorite season. It's easy to see why: layering, knitwear, lightweight outerwear, scarves. The list goes on. For some people, all the different combinations could be overwhelming, and we get that, so we've got a suggestions: keep it simple.

Let Roger Federer show you how. The 35-year-old tennis pro sat front row at Chanel's spring/summer 2017 show today in Paris wearing the sartorial equivalent to a pumpkin spice latte, i.e. what should be considered everyone's autumnal go-to outfit. And the best part is, it's simple AF and anyone can pull it off.

Federer just took his traditional two-piece suit and swapped out the shirt-and-tie for a fine-gauge turtleneck, which is quickly becoming the must-have sweater of the season. And he got extra points for picking a piece of tailoring in a rich, season-appropriate shade of burgundy and picked a sweater that was a similar shade, but not an exact match. This, friends, is called tonal dressing — meaning you're pretty much wearing the same color but in slightly different shades, to add a little visual interest but it also helps to ensure that you'll be matching more-or-less as you start piling on those layers.

Federer finished things off with a pair of high-shine brogues and some killer shades, which you're free to copy, or you can instead opt for one of the season's hottest footwear trends. Naturally, make sure the fit of the suit is perfect, and you'll be all set. It's much easier to look like Federer off the court, than perform like him on it ... trust us.
